Reflection Sundays are coming.
This weekend, as always, we celebrate Donut Sunday. This is a great opportunity to gather after Sunday Mass to get to know the Body of Christ, to deepen friendships and enjoy the sweet things of life. Strive to make it a point to slow down your life and sit for a moment. Let’s beat the fast-paced lifestyle we live in and enjoy one another before the rat race of life begins.
Reflection Sunday. While we offer Donut Sundays on the 1st Sunday of the month, beginning in this month of October, we will offer Reflection Sundays on the 3rd Sunday of each month. What is reflection Sunday? Coming from the fruit of the Holy Spirit during Parish Council meetings, we wanted to offer an opportunity for those attending Mass to unpack their worship experience. After the Recessional Song, you will be free to leave as always. But you are welcome to stay as you ask yourself: how was God’s presence revealed in the Mass? What caught your attention during this worship experience? We will ask you to share this with someone else at Mass as another way to pause for a few minutes to soak in what is happening at every Mass. We will try this out for the next three months. Thanks for being open to this. I’m excited about this opportunity!
Book of Miracles. Recently, our prayer healing ministry came together to meet, pray and discern how best to serve the parish moving forward. One thought that was brought up at the meeting was having a Book of Miracles in the gathering area of the church. This will offer an opportunity to share if a physical healing miracle has occurred within our parish community. By sharing this, we can receive hope and encouragement as we continue to ask for healing in the name of Jesus—especially through our healing prayer in St. Francis de Sales Church. We will have the Book of Miracles for all to write in right below the image of Divine Mercy. Thanks for sharing how God is working in our parish. Also, if you didn’t know already, healing prayer teams are available to pray with anyone each fourth Sunday after the 11:00 a.m. Mass. We also offer Anointing of the Sick after 6:30 p.m. Mass on the first Thursday of the month. Please take advantage of these opportunities to pray and ask Jesus to heal so that we as the Body of Christ can continue to do the work we are called to do.
In His Name,
Fr. Jeremy
