When was the last time you told Jesus you loved Him? From time to time, I will the penance, "Tell Jesus that you love Him." Sadly, I don’t think we tell him often enough “I love you Jesus.” The Psalm this weekend is a good reminder for us to pray those words, mean those words and live those words with our lives…“I love you, Lord, my strength!”

We know that love can take us in many directions. Some to the vocation of marriage, others to religious life, and others to holy orders. Love takes us to others, because love cannot exist without the other. This Sunday we celebrate Priesthood Sunday. We celebrate and pray for men who have responded to the call of priesthood in their lives. This weekend, we welcome John Scantling, who is a Pre-Theology Student from St. Mary Seminary in Wickliffe, Ohio. He is a parishioner from St. Sebastian, Akron, Ohio. Please give him a wonderful welcome as we hear his story of how Jesus has called him to discern a vocation to priesthood. I honestly invite and challenge anyone who is thinking about priesthood to give either Fr. David or me a call. I am more than happy to listen to how God is calling you to serve the Church.  We need you!

Lastly, I want to share some words from Aidan Twigg, who recently finished his Eagle Scout Project on our campus: “I'm sure most have noticed the new game out on the playground. It is called 9 square and was built for my Eagle project. Mrs. Shirley Clark brought the idea up a few years ago and always had to bring her own for the youth group to use at Church. With this new game the Church and School are able to use it. Thank you to the Scouts that helped make this project a success!” Thank you, Aidan, for your listening heart and determination to get things accomplished for the betterment of our parish community.
