From the Becoming Catholic Team – An Invitation to All Seeking Christ

There is nothing more beautiful, true, and life-giving than the Catholic Church. Founded by Jesus Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit through the centuries, the Church continues to provide the fullness of truth, the grace of the Sacraments, and the joy of a personal relationship with Christ within a living community of faith. In a world searching for meaning, stability, and hope, the Church remains a light in the darkness, leading souls to salvation. As Catholics, it is our responsibility and privilege to invite others to learn about Jesus, the beauty of His Church and the peace found in a prayerful and sacramental lifestyle.

Each year, our parish joyfully welcomes adults and older children who desire to explore the Catholic faith and prepare for full initiation through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)—formerly known as RCIA. The OCIA, or as we call it, Becoming Catholic, is a prayerful and structured journey that introduces seekers to the teachings of the Church, the beauty of the Sacraments, and the richness of Catholic prayer and community life.

Now is the time to invite those you know who may be interested in “becoming Catholic.” Maybe it’s a spouse who comes to Mass with you but never received the Sacraments, a neighbor who’s asked questions about your Catholic beliefs, a coworker who’s searching for deeper faith, or a friend who is simply curious. A personal invitation is often the nudge the Holy Spirit uses to draw someone closer to Christ.

If you—or someone you know—has expressed interest in the Catholic Church, please encourage them to reach out to our Becoming Catholic Coordinator, Michael Kimble. We would be honored to accompany them in discovering the beauty of the faith and discerning God's call.

Weekly sessions will begin this fall, and now is the perfect time to start the conversation. No commitment is necessary to inquire—just an open heart and a willingness to explore.
