Spring and summer are always exciting times at our parish. We get so many opportunities to gather and celebrate God’s goodness to us, from the bittersweet moments of saying thank you and goodbye to Fr. David and welcoming soon-to-be Fr. Cam, to fun days at VBS, to the peacefulness of time by the lake for Mass on the Water. Take some time to mark your calendar for all the great things these seasons hold!
- Priesthood Ordination, Saturday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Cleveland – Our soon-to-be parochial vicar, Dc. Cameron Ferrell, and his classmates will be ordained to the priesthood next Saturday! Keep them in your prayers as they prepare for this exciting day.
- Send off for Fr. David, June 7 – The first weekend in June, we will say farewell to Fr. David as he moves to his new assignment at St. Francis Xavier in Medina. Join us after the 11:00 Mass in the gym for refreshments and a chance to thank Fr. David for all he has done for St. Francis de Sales and wish him well in his new parish.
- The Wild Goose, Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. June 2 through August 25 – We will gather in the Memorare Center for these weekly sessions to watch The Wild Goose video series and discover the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Please RSVP with the QR code below or by calling the Parish Office, 330-644-2225.
- VBS: Signs and Wonders, June 15-19 – This year, Vacation Bible School will explore the amazing miracles of Jesus. Camper registration is still open! See the ad in this bulletin for details.
- Mass on the Water, Sunday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tudor House – This is always a beautiful chance to worship God in the midst of His creation on the shores of the Portage Lakes.
- Mass at the Ballpark, Sunday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Akron Rubberducks Stadium – A fun day for the whole family at the ballpark!
- Parish Festival, Saturday, September 12 – We will close the summer with our annual parish festival. Having it on Saturday worked so well last year, we decided to do it again. Save the date for this joyful celebration with our parish family!
Stay Tuned! This year, we would like to offer a family-focused event not just each month of the summer but each month of the year. Parish Council has helped brainstorm some activities for us to add to our parish calendar. Stay tuned for information about an October Movie Night, November Praise and Worship XLT during Eucharistic Devotions, and Donuts with St. Nick in December!
