Dear Parents and Guardians,
Fr. Merzweiler, Fr. Verbsky, the faculty and staff of the St. Francis de Sales PSR program welcome your family to the 2023-2024 PSR year! We look forward to a wonderful year with your children, loving and learning about our God and our Catholic faith.
We would like to thank Mrs. Kathy Ott for her years of devotion to the PSR program, and we wish her the best in her new role in the Diocese of Youngstown. We are blessed and thrilled to be taking over the position of PSR Co-Coordinators, and are certain many of you will recognize us from the classroom, as we have been ‘team teachers’ at the 2nd grade level for 17 years.
We know that PSR attendance is important and vital for your children, and we thank you for making this a priority in your lives, but we also recognize the challenges that arise during the school year. Due to this awareness, we have decided to restructure our PSR program in order to help you commit to the scheduled times and eliminate possible conflicts on your calendar. Please take a moment to note these dates on your calendar now.
There will be two in-person PSR classes each month, with an extended time from 6:30-8:00 pm. An additional family/school connection activity will be given for families to complete on the ‘off week’. These activities and topics will correlate with the Liturgical Calendar, and will be shared and reviewed during both classroom sessions each month.
Registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year. Please view the attached links for the registration form, PSR calendar, Sacramental Calendar for those in 2nd grade (8th grade calendar will be shared from Mrs. Clark), and the PSR handbook. You will also receive a printed copy of the handbook in your child’s red folder on the first night of class on Monday, September 11th. Registration fee is $40 per student with a $120 maximum per family. Please pay fee by our opening Mass and class on Sept. 11th. There is a $10.00 discount ($30.00) for early registration/payment by Sept. 1st. Payments can be dropped off in the mailbox outside of the Memorare Center or placed in the collection basket with an envelope clearly marked as PSR Fee.
We are excited to see you in the fall, and pray that God will continue to bless the
St. Francis de Sales PSR community as we “work together to bring Christ to our children!”
Mrs. Ann Mayer and Mrs. Linda Reese
