Jesus said, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the kingdom of God.” One of my favorite saint quotes comes from St. Junipero Serra who lived by the motto “Always forward, never back!” This is a great motto to live by as oftentimes in life, something happens and we tend to mull it over in our minds and hearts over and over and over again. This is why Jesus wants us to stay focused on what lay ahead in our journey and not spend too much time on the past. Let’s keep moving forward on the journey!
Speaking of moving forward, we just moved into Summer and we have a lot of good things to look forward to as we enter the summer months. Here are just a few things to mark your calendar for this summer so we can enter into community and spend time with our parish family.
- July 31 – Mass on the Water! We are going to have Mass @ the Tudor House on Sunday, July 31 @ 1:00pm. Please bring your family and your own picnic lunch so that we can share in the Eucharisitic Meal and in a meal after. The Tudor House recently built a beautiful concrete patio with a tent right on the water. It will be a peaceful time of prayer and gathering together.
- August 28 – Mass at Canal Park Stadium! @ 12:00 Noon we will gather together for Mass, Fellowship and Baseball. It will be a great time kickoff to the school season! Please check out the website or bulletin so you can sign up and have some fun!
- September 18 – Parish Picnic! Beginning at Noon with Music, Food and Fun, we will spend time together and as always celebrate who Jesus is for us! We will end the day with an Outdoor Mass at 4:00pm.
As always, I look forward to spending time with you. Sometimes in the go-go-go environment we live in, it is good to make sure we take these opportunities to laugh, have fun and simply be with one another.
God bless your summer,
Fr. Jeremy
