“Why spend your money for what is not bread; your wages for what fails to satisfy?” Have you ever bought something and it failed to satisfy? Once or twice a month, I like to go to the mall and walk around. I have to be honest, it is mostly to go eat chicken teriyaki at Yihi Japan. Whatever is in their sauce, it is addictive! While I am there, it is also fun to watch people shop. Some people are on a mission and know what they want. Some are just waiting to find something that catches their eye. Some are simply trying to find fulfillment and satisfaction in the next buy. We have to admit that all of us have lived these realities out at some point or another. We lived by the saying, “Once I buy this, then I’ll be happy.” I know in my life, it doesn’t take long before I lose interest in something I buy. It’s because we were made for more than stuff. We were made for love, for Heaven, for God Himself. These words from Isaiah invite us to pray about what we spend our money on… to ponder with the Lord how we should use everything He has given us, be led by Him, be fed by Him, and, most of all, be satisfied by Him. How we live this and enter into this is a life-long project that is worth all the effort. Let’s start today!

Work around the campus. Currently, Master’s Electric is installing three light poles in the middle of the parking lot to increase the lighting in the area, especially for the dark, rainy evenings we get throughout the year. I am thankful we are making our parking lot a safer place. Along Diederich Lane, a drainage pipe has been installed in the ditch and dirt is being brought in to reinforce the driveway so that our drive can last many years. This will also help us to level the lawn level to make it easier for mowing and provide an open area to run and play on in the months to come.

Missionary Speaker. This weekend we welcome Fr. Lukasz Drozak CSsR, a Polish missionary from the Redemptorist religious order who is raising money for their work in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine. I personally love the missionary weekend every year because it helps me to see the Church in action throughout all the world.
