“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). This line from St. Paul is such a good line to pray with. No matter what we are experiencing in life, there is a silver lining…all things work for good. I think of my own father’s situation. Despite the tragedy of receiving a horrible diagnosis, I have seen so many people step up in prayer for his healing. It has been amazing! Thank you! He is now done with chemo and radiation and will wait a couple months for an MRI to see how things are doing. He is riding on your prayers. Again, thank you!
BBQ with the Bishop. On Wednesday, August 5 the Diocese Vocation Office will be hosting a BBQ with the Bishop for discerners at the Center for Pastoral Leadership. This cookout will be an opportunity for young men—high school through age 35—to come together at the seminary to enjoy a meal and meet Bishop Malesic, our seminarians, priests from across the diocese, and other men who are discerning and open to a priestly vocation. If you feel called to the priesthood, please let me know if you would be interested in attending. I would be happy to help with your discernment process. RSVP by July 27 by emailing fr**********@*******sh.com.
Congratulations Fr. Mark Ott! On August 1, Fr. Mark will begin a new assignment as Pastor of Holy Martyrs Parish in Medina. He has helped there as a weekend associate for 15 years while teaching at the seminary. He is excited to serve there. Holy Martyrs campus is very beautiful. When I was at St. Ambrose Parish, I would visit Holy Martyrs and pray on their prayer paths and beside the pond. Take a moment to pray for him. In this moment of transition, pray that he can rely on the Lord to help him in many ways.
Rubber Ducks Mass. As we enter the month of August, we begin to gear up for the school year and upcoming fall events. Please consider coming to the Rubber Ducks Mass to wrap up the summer on August 9 at 11:00 a.m. with a ballgame to follow. Check out the info in our bulletin or website and get your tickets. See you there!
May you see the Lord at work in your life,
Fr. Jeremy
