As you know, the Memorare Center Project has been under construction since July, 2020. Thanks be to God we are nearing the completion of the project. The offices and meeting rooms are getting their final touches as carpet is being laid, desks are being built, technology is being installed, etc. There is a lot of progress happening thanks be to God! We should be able to move in mid-April! One of the things I like most about the building is that when you enter through the front doors, you come to a window that reminds you of a doctor’s office. (Check out the panoramic picture I took).
This is the image, the reality I want us to enter into as a church and parish community. We come to church to meet our spiritual doctor—Jesus.
And in the gospel, what do we hear but God came into the world not to condemn the world, but to bring life. The Gospel of John for this Sunday proclaims that “whoever lives the truth comes to the light.”
When you visit your doctor when you are experiencing an ailment, do you tell him/her that everything is fine? Hopefully not. Hopefully, you reveal to your doctor what is going on, so that you can receive what you need to heal. The same is true with Jesus. Are you telling Him that all is fine? Or are you approaching Him with honesty? Are you revealing your sickness, your wounds to Him so that He can heal and bring life? We need to bring these things to the light and not let them remain hidden. Bring your wounds, your sins to Jesus, the spiritual doctor, and let Him do what He does best—heal you!
May God’s peace and joy be with you,
