An excellent Lenten testimony!

This audio starts out with the story of the cripple being lowered through the roof of a home in order to present him to Jesus, to be healed. This reading brings me to thoughts of pure panic and chaos. How does Jesus handle the crowds closing in on him? Picture the masses rushing onto a field after an impressive OSU victory. The neck straining crowd, expecting to see another physical miracle, is confused when they think Jesus blasphemously forgives the cripples’ sins, leaving him disabled, not exactly what the crowd expects.  The calm nature of Jesus is impressive. He addresses the murmuring dissidents scattered in the crowd with, “Which is easier to do, heal the man’s body or his soul?”.

Scott Hahn once again brings our faith to life. Using Scripture, his life story, an encounter with St John Paul II and a little humor, we see the mercy of the confessional and Christ’s healing touch. Lent is a beautiful time for interior reflection. Take a listen, and enjoy!
